Did You Know?

Prevention is about more than stopping substance use. It is about strengthening individuals, families, schools, and communities before problems begin.

Research shows that young people are less likely to misuse alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs when they have supportive adults, strong family connections, positive activities, accurate information, and healthy ways to cope with stress.

Prevention works best when the entire community takes part. Parents, schools, healthcare providers, faith communities, local organizations, and caring neighbors all have a role in helping people make healthier choices.

Small conversations, positive connections, and early support can make a lasting difference.

Get Involved

Prevention works best when communities work together. Parents, schools, healthcare providers, businesses, and community members all play an important role in preventing youth tobacco use and supporting those who want to quit.
