Commercial tobacco use remains one of the leading causes of preventable disease and death in the United States. Today, youth face new challenges as e-cigarettes and vaping products become more common. Through education, prevention, and support for quitting, the Quay County Health Council is committed to helping people make informed decisions and live healthier, tobacco-free lives.
What We’re Doing in Quay County
🚭 Youth Education
- Deliver evidence-based prevention education in local schools.
- Partner with schools to help students understand the health risks of vaping and nicotine addiction.
- Implement the CATCH My Breath vaping prevention curriculum for middle school students.

Our interactive displays help youth and adults see the real effects of tobacco and nicotine use while encouraging healthy choices.

Our Prevention Specialist is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist, providing evidence-based education and connecting individuals with resources to help them quit using commercial tobacco and nicotine products.
