The 2024 Event has ended. We hid a total of 607 rocks and had 340 returned for a 56% return rate. We gave out 53 $5.00 beverage cards for winners throughout the event and several hundred children’s fidget toys. Two Grand Prize Movie packages were awarded. We had 310 volunteer hours dedicated to the project and received funding and help from Altrusa International of Tucumcari. Come back next year and see what we added.

This is the 4th year for this fun event. Be sure to get involved and enjoy some time outdoors.

Here is how it works! Visit the areas in town where volunteers are hiding painted rocks with red labels. Find a rock and turn it into Western Plains Title and Escrow at 108 W Center. Draw a marble from a bag and if you draw that week’s color, you will receive a gift card to a local coffee/tea shop. The rock you found will be rehidden the next week, so more prizes can be given. All children under 12 will also be able to pick a prize from the toy box. Everyone turning in a rock, will put their name on a ticket to be drawn for a large prize at the end of the event. To be eligible for prizes all rocks must be turned in by June 3, 2024. Be sure to post your finds on your social media with #RockYourWalks24
